Gildas the Wise continues his castigation of the Britons and proceeds to identify the sinful kings of his time by name. Constantine who slew the Saxon princes at the altar, Aurelius Connanus and Vortigern, all selfish tyrants with perverted sexual tastes, much like the tyrants who rule our countries today.

It cannot be said that we have rose tinted spectacles concerning our race, we have to accept that we have had devils among us and still do. The difference back then was that the church was not afraid to point to the crimes of our leaders and denounce them.
